yay

I finished the red one-row scarf for WjB (and even got his mailing address so I can actually send it off this week!). Am about a third of the way into the blueberry scarf for Eric (paneled - like, every stitch pattern I know and can make up on the fly - tons of fun so far. it's got some one-row in it, cables, 2 new textures I just made up on the go, and I think I'm going to add some seed stitch next). Want to finish the scarf this next week. Spent the day working on a new bag that is half knit and half tunisian crochet - and have decided that I totally and completely love the combo. the tunisian crochet makes an awesome sturdy fabric (for the bottom, as well as accents in a honeycomb stitch), while the knit makes a nice drapey fabric (for the top flap and sides). pictures some other time (like, maybe when I'm done typing this at my desktop, I'll go get my phone in the other room and mms some photos).

the local grocer is out of dog food (and has been for over a week). so I jumped into the internets to find homemade dog food recipes - the first batch was peanut butter flavored, and this batch has a bunch of her treats stirred into the batter. she has wolfed it down every time, so I guess it's ok. am using soy for the protein, since the red meat situation here is precarious at best, and she doesn't seem to be allergic and her digestion has been pretty normal (she's been without commercial food for a few days, and has been pooping like normal).

The music exchange seems to be hanging in there after all - I thought it was as good as dead for a while, but then I got all motivated and sent out two or three songs every day for a week - and people started sending in music again! it's been awesome discovering new bands I'd never hear about on my own.
