Since I'd be knitting/crocheting all the time anyway, I try to keep a stash of lapghans and baby blankets in stock (I like to be able to celebrate lots of things with handmade gifts, and I am blessed
to be surrounded by people who are joyfully celebrating all sorts of things, all the time). Stuff that can be personalized later ~ like leaving a large un~patterned space to be embroidered. Woo! I
think it's important for handmade gifts to be at least partially crafted with a specific recipient in mind (good vibes and all that ~ like a prayer shawl), so even though I keep a stash of neutral
blankets, I always finish them up in some special way once I know who they're for.
